SEAT in Mexico, a sensation for the company in the world
Mexico City,- With current economic situation and the drop in sales of new vehicles the increase in the number of SEAT vehicles sold in Mexico has proved amazing for the company.
Cesar Cencela, CEO for SEAT in Mexico, explained in an interview that between January and September they have sold 13 thousand 66 units in Mexico, which exceeds total sales last year, when they sold 12 thousand 700 vehicles.
Forecasts are closing 2009 with sales for 15 thousand units, which would represent a 20% year-to-year increase, and even if Mr. Cencela considers they could easily sell two thousand units more, the plant does not have enough capacity to supply more units in Mexico.
He further explained that results obtained are due to the brand’s strategy, which has been weaving since last year, especially since new Ibiza model was launched in Mexico International Automobile Trade Show. The purpose was not bringing the model “just like that”, but they worked together with the plant in Spain on the configuration and equipment of versions to be sold here.
