Renault could produce in Mexico
Mexico City,- This will be one of the hardest years for automotive sector in Mexico and not only for one single brand; therefore, Renault is working on the strategies to follow, including the possibility to produce new vehicles here.
Olivier Murget, CEO, Renault Mexico, said in an interview that Carlos Ghosn, President and Chief Operating Officer Nissan/Renault has declared in several forums that one of Renault’s strengths will be to locally produce at the markets where they sell their cars. Mexico is one of such markets.
He added that if this year has been difficult, there will still be some obstacles to overcome in the future, because maybe it will not be before 2013 when the Mexican market reaches one million units sold per year, if the sector and the government do not do something about it before.
