Marchionne coming to Mexico for FIAT 500 production kickoff in Chrysler Toluca
Sergio Marchionne will be in Mexico next February 8. Mr. Marchionne announced a few days ago in Detroit Autoshow he will be coming to Mexico (most surely for the kickoff of FIAT 500 production in Chrysler de Mexico’s plant in Toluca). Chrysler de Mexico has declined to make any comments.
Sergio Marchionne recently declared in Stockholm, Sweden that 2010 is decisive for FIAT-Chrysler alliance to yield concrete achievements, when speaking about Chrysler leaving red numbers behind.
Six weeks ago, Marchionne talked about Chrysler’s 2010-2015 Business Plan. This Plan considers manufacturing FIAT 1.4 liters engines for subcompact units in the United States. These engines, which will be produced in one of Chrysler’s plants in the United States, will be assembled in the cars FIAT-Chrysler will produce in NAFTA Region, specifically in Mexico.
Marchionne assured that FIAT 500 will be produced in their Toluca Plant, in Mexico, and it will be shipped to all of the American Continent, from Canada to Argentina.
