Maquila lost 6 thousand employees
Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua,- Current maquiladora industry labor occupation is not up to par with that 10 years ago, because there were 56 thousand workers employed then and the figure is 50 thousand now, AMEAC Director, Jose Luis Rodulfo Mercado, pointed-out yesterday.
He thinks that many of the six thousand employees that have not been rehired are regretfully now in the informal economy. There is no certainty as to where the six thousand workers are, but what is most regrettable is that these people’s training has been lost.
Rodulfo Mercado said that there are other sectors taking advantage of these people’s training, because they have a culture based on discipline, values, work and quality, among others.
