In spite of recovery industry does not see an easy 2010 ahead
Chihuahua, Mexico,- The National Processing Industry Chamber (Canacintra) informed that during the 2009 crisis, companies in the sector lost orders from abroad for around 30% to 50%, but fortunately in the first four months of this year the industry has stayed on foot and some of it grew 30%. However, they do not see an easy year ahead.
This was declared by Luis Garzon, Cancintra Director, who further said that this is a year of opportunity, because even if industrialists do not think it will be easy, they are convinced there is much to do because a question was left in the air last year: What to do to be successful?
He said that one of the very broad opportunities the sector has is on supplies, because local companies currently account for only 2.3% of supplies sold, while the rest is purchased abroad. Luis Garzon said that they are therefore planning to increase consumption of domestic goods because each percentage point represents around one million Dollars for companies.
