French investment confident in Mexico
Mexico City,- Daniel Parfait, French Ambassador in Mexico, is confident that the country will make structural reforms. French investment is the third most important in Mexico and even throughout the crisis it was not reduced.
Between January and December 2009, French investment in Mexico posted a 400% year-to-year growth, going from US$43.4 billion to US$195.7 billion.
French investors stay in Mexico in spite of the crisis. They rank third in investments in Mexico. While other countries have reduced their investment, French investors have not. The crisis has not changed anything. Sanofi-aventis started last November the construction of a plant to produce seasonal influenza vaccines. The French Agency for Development will invest US$250 million to support sustainable development in Mexico. Danone is building a mega-milk-farm in central Mexico.
