Exports growing again
Mexico City,- Mexico’s income from exports reached US$22.298 billion in November, i.e. a 10% year-to-year increase, the first positive balance since October 2008, according to figures from the Mexican Statistics Agency, Instituto Nacional de Estadistica, Geografia e Informatica (INEGI).
These figures were influenced by a 6% increase in manufacturing sales, standing out the 10.5% increase in products for the automotive industry. In said sector, shipments made to the United States went up 14.3%, while in exports to the rest of the world there was a 5.6% year-to-year drop.
For Arturo Vieyra, Banamex Analyst, production is also recovering. “This time Mexican products have been benefited from the close interrelation with the United States, which brought the reactivation of many services and production chains linked to the external market, fostering employment and advancing in production”, he explained.
