Chrysler exports new Journey vans
Mexico City,- Chrysler de Mexico announced, through its Manufacturing Vice-president, Roberto. Gutierrez, that Dodge Journey vans will be manufactured exclusively in Toluca, State of Mexico to be later exported to 80 countries, to which purpose a US$1 billion investment will be made. Part of the US$1 billion was spent in the construction of an industrial park close to the plant, where 540 suppliers established.
“With the excellent labor of all of our workers we may produce the best vehicles, which we will be proud to export to more than 80 countries; this is a project we won to China”, said Gutierrez. Chrysler’s Plant has a production capacity of 600 vans per day and during this year plans are to export 170 thousand Journey vans.
Enrique Peña Nieto, State of Mexico Governor, informed that only in Toluca Metropolitan Area more than MEP$4.7 billion have been invested to improve, refurbish and build more infrastructure and highways, which makes possible projects, such as Chrysler’s.
