Armando Amezcua Nava, Director of Municipal Economic Foster, informed that Wal-Mart is budgeting an investment over US$22 million, generating more than 800 temporary jobs during the construction stage.

He informed that topography works are currently being made and within the next few weeks construction of what will be one the biggest shopping malls in this border city will start.

“We reached an agreement to promote their mall and they have already visited the several departments involved in the administration of the construction process”, he said.

He further said that this year there will be investments over US$60 million in Ciudad Acuña –among which Wal-Mart’s stands out– including investment from maquiladora companies which are expanding their production lines.
