Monterrey, Mexico.- With a US$107 million investment, Grupo Villacero will inaugurate next March 24 a Service Center in Apodaca and a helicoid pipeline producer in Pesqueria , events to be attended by President Felipe Calderon. Ignacio Treviño Camelo, Institutional Relations Director for Villacero, said that their Service Center in Apodaca is on a 249,000 square meters (2,680,202 square feet) plot of land, with buildings occupying 70,000 square meters (753,470 square feet).
“This center will provide for flat and long steel products trade, processing and logistics, with an investment for US$77 million”, he said.
“This is the largest and most modern center in Latin America, with capacity for 840,000 tons per year, to serve commercial, industrial, construction and infrastructure markets in NAFTA Region and Central America”, he further pointed-out.
The manufacturing plant –specialized in the manufacture of pipelines with black helicoid welding or lined pipelines for fluids in structures– will generate 280 additional jobs. The plant’s production capacity is 110,000 tons per year.
