Mexico city,- Taking into consideration the dynamism automotive sector has recovered, Technical Stoppages Program does not need to continue, Gerardo Ruiz Mateos, Minister of the Economy, said. “Up to now we have not received any petitions to continue technical stoppages in the automotive sector, because cars production in Mexico has recovered its dynamism.

“As a matter of fact, auto parts industry has increased the number of shifts, from two to three, to cover demand from the USA, where people are changing their cars to take advantage of ‘Clunkers Program’ launched by the US Government. It would make no sense to continue with the Technical Stoppages Program”, the Minister of the Economy pointed-out.
