Santander, Spain.- Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo, Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, assured there will be no change in Mexico-Spain cooperation policies, notwithstanding who wins the elections in Mexico. In an interview during the XI Santander-Latin America Encounter, Minister Garcia Margallo spoke about the democratic process in Mexico and pointed-out that Spain’s relation with Mexico is excellent and they are positive that political conditions in Mexico after the election will be convenient for Spain.
“We have no doubt that beyond who wins the elections, existing friendship and cooperation links will remain, because Mexico is an excellent partner for Spain”, he said, and added that Mexicans have shown important political maturity and no matter which party is in power, whatever its ideology, the cooperation line between both countries will be surely kept open.
