Mexico,- Even if companies in the technological sector are forecasting a difficult 2009, Sony’s. Audio Division considers sales will continue as they have been up to now in Mexico next year, and this multinational company is confident on Mexican consumers that have granted them a 10 points advantage before their closest competitor.

Also, even if the Sales Manager for Walkman, Hector Noria, estimated that the Company does not seem to have suffered a strong impact from the world’s economic crisis, it will at some time “hit all over the industry”.

That is why to keep Mexican consumers, Sony’s Audio Division will continue with its strategy of listening to the Mexican market’s needs.

“In mini-components Sony has a share of the market a little over 50% with Genezi; in 2007, Sony sold 500 thousand of these units in Mexico, making of this country the most important site for the Company in this sub-segment”, said Christian Beuffe, Assistant Sales Manager for Home Audio in Sony México.

Hector Noria also said that due to the importance of the Mexican market Sony designs, develops and manufactures products specifically for Mexico.
