Guadalajara, Mexico, – Jabil, the company in the electronics field, chose Jalisco to invest in a second plant, which could mean hiring 2 thousand 500 people in what is left of this year and in 2009.

Guadalajara’s Plant competed against Jabil factories in Reynosa, Chihuahua and China. In 2007 the Company estimated its labor force in 4 thousand 500 workers.

The fight for Jabil’s project started last year, but initially it was among Jalisco, El Salvador and plants located in the USA. It was said then that the investment could amount to US$40 million.

Jabil’s investment adds to those recently disclosed by other companies in the field, such as Flextronics, Technicolor, Sanmina-SCI and IBM. For this year, electronics industry forecasted the generation of more than 5 thousand jobs.
