Coahuila, Saltillo.- The 50% increase in production by Daimler Truck (Freightliner) is considered a very positive measure by representatives from the steel sector, industrial parks and trade, for it automatically created the need of 500 new jobs, which are already being recruited.
“It is undoubtedly a very positive sign”, Rafael Cabral, businessman in the steel sector, said.
He added that “the news are of great importance, not only for the economic contribution to the Southeast Region, but also because of the growth it will bring in suppliers development, since we should remember that for each direct job created by assemblers, between 5 and 8 jobs are created in the chain of supply”.
“Especially in our sector, this provides significant encouragement, because 97% of production generated by steel sector in Saltillo and the Southeast Region is meant for the automotive sector, the remainder goes to construction”, he said.
