Tijuana, Baja California.- Celebrating their 40th anniversary in Tijuana, Plantronics de Mexico announced a US$30 million investment for the construction of a new plant.
Ken Kannappan, President, said that the complex will integrate the design, distribution and logistics centers they currently operate, to start operating at their new premises in 2013.
The plant, which will be located near Mesa de Otay Port of Entry, will provide for 25% to 30% growth, because the company will transfer new production lines, Alejandro Bustamante Gutierrez said. Mr. Bustmante was recently promoted from President for Plantronics Mexico to Global Operations Vice-president.
The company’s labor force in Tijuana amounts to close to 3,000 employees distributed among four units: Manufacturing, Design Centers, Customer Service and Distribution.
