Nuevo Leon, Monterrey.- Spain is planning to provide impulse to small and medium companies (PYMES) in Nuevo Leon and consolidate the state as a destination for Spaniard companies, Manuel Alabart Fernandez-Cavada, Spain’s Ambassador to Mexico, pointed-out. During 2010 and 2011, Spaniard companies invested US$2 billion in Nuevo Leon, in spite of economic conditions prevailing in Europe and lack of safety affecting Mexico.
Spain is the third or fourth international investor in Nuevo Leon; Spain is the second investor in the world, only after the United States.
Among Spaniard companies located in Nuevo Leon stand out Iberdrola, a natural gas company and Isolux-Corsan, the firm in charge of the construction of Monterrey-Saltillo highway.
