Mexico.- Nissan Mexicana announced they are considering increasing by up to 4 times auto parts purchases in Mexico in the next 4 years. Chris Styles, Purchasing Director for this Japanese company in Mexico, said that this year they will buy from domestic and foreign suppliers installed in Mexico products for a total amount of US$3.7 billion. In 2013 the amount will add to US$4.4 billion, and a year later it will reach US$6.4 million; in 2015 it will be US$11.2 billion and in 2016 the amount is forecasted in US$13.9 billion.
This means that auto parts purchase by Nissan in Mexico between 2012 and 2016 will be increased by 275.6%, as part of the expansion the company will have in their new Aguascalientes complex, where US$2 billion were invested, in addition to their other plant in the same State and Cuernavaca Plant.
