Mexico,- Even if Chrysler outdid Volkswagen and Ford in sales, the Japanese Nissan raised as leader in the domestic market, the Mexican Dealerships Association (AMDA) pointed-out.Since last June, Nissan has posted a 23% share of the market, followed by General Motors with 18.8%.
Nissan’s positive results are due to the fact that their vehicles manufactured in Mexico account for over 80% of their sales, Thomas Scarpello, Commercial Director for Nissan, explained.
Scarpello mentioned Tsuru, with a 7.3% share, as well as Tiida sedan, which ranks fourth among the 10 best sellers in Mexico. “Which means we are on the right track for Nissan to be absolute leader in 2009”, he added.
