Cancun, Q. Roo.- Mexican economy will grow almost 4% this year, thanks to economic policies that allow efficiently facing external blows, Manuel Ramos Francia, Vice-governor, Banco de Mexico (Banxico), affirmed. However, in spite of good economic conditions, Mexico requires “umbrella” structural reforms that improve the country’s competitiveness, especially the labor reform, Mr. Ramos said in the XII Annual Convention of GAMAA Derivados.
“What Mexico has been doing does have an effect, last year our growth was around 4%; this year we will grow between 3.5% and 4%, most likely closer to 4%, in a situation where perspectives include risks from abroad but Mexico’s economic policies have provided for efficiently resisting those blows coming from abroad”, he pointed out.
