Mexico.- Countries like Mexico, with a Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Canada, and being partner of the European Union, become a strategic axis for European investments in Latin America, an official source declared today. Jesus Gracia Aldaz, State Secretary, International Cooperation, spoke about the interest of Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon on receiving investment and the recent trip made by Mariano Rajoy, Spain’s Prime Minister to Mexico and Colombia.
He added that both President Calderon and Colombia’s President, Jose Manuel Santos, are committed to receiving investment and observe rules; both countries are respectful and observant of International Law.
He further said that it is clear that as a general rule there is still a long way for European investment to bloom in Latin America and spoke about the changes made in Latin America, a region marked by optimism, stability and growth, which is striving to achieve economic equality.
