Mexico .- Clean energies generation potential in Mexico equals a 114 projects portfolio and foreign direct investment estimated in US$18.243 billion. Juan Angel Vargas, Head of Business Intelligence Unit with ProMexico, said that there are two great potentials for Mexico in this type of industry, namely Aeolian and Solar power.
Data offered by Mr. Vargas speak about 32 projects to generate wind-powered energy, which assumes a capital injection of US$7.226 billion.
In this area, the states that have enough variables for the installation of windmills to generate Aeolian power are Oaxaca, Baja California, Zacatecas and Tamaulipas.
“Eight out of the 32 projects focused on this area are planning to establish in Oaxaca, because there are sufficient winds at La Ventosa for this purpose”, he said.
