Tijuana,- Maquiladora Industry all over Mexico will invest US$416 million in what is left of the .year, generating 20 thousand direct jobs and 70 thousand indirect jobs, according to Cesar Castro Rodriguez, Chairman of Mexican Council of Maquiladora Manufacturing Export Industries, Consejo Nacional de la Industria Maquiladora y Manufacturera de Exportación (CNIMME); however, he acknowledged that around 50 thousand jobs have been lost in the sector, even if this has been compensated with recoveries.He said that before October Mexican Maquiladora Industry had a balance similar to that in 2007 of two million 400 thousand jobs generated in six thousand 200 plants in Mexico, but the world recession has cut-down the number a little.
He said that cities such as Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez and Merida suffered the largest number of losses in maquilador sector, but cleared-out that other areas in Guadalajara, Mexicali and Reynosa have grown with the creation of 19 thousand jobs.
