Guanajuato, Mexico.- Honda, the automotive giant, will break ground for their Celaya Vehicles Assembly and Engines Plant, where they will invest US$800 million to create 3,200 direct jobs. Bloomberg Honda is planning to start operations in 2014 in this new plant, which will be located on 566 hectares between Juan Martin and La Cruz towns, south of Celaya, Guanajuato. President Felipe Calderon will preside the break-ground event.
The assembly plant will have capacity to produce 200,000 units per year, to be sold in Mexico and North America markets. Honda has sets its main challenges in the production of subcompact models.
