Mexico.- Spirits industry in the world sees in Mexico a strong, sound country, suitable to continue investing there, Patricio Massa, Brand Manager for Appleton in Mexico, pointed-out after announcing they are launching to the Mexican market a new high-end rum: Appleton Estate 21 Years.
Massa said that by considering Mexico to sell a part of this collection here a vote of confidence is given to the country. “People believe in Mexico abroad, and this special edition is proof of that. There are 2,000 bottles of this rum and we got 600 for Mexico”, he elaborated.
Mexico represents 15% of total sales by Jamaica Rum. This company is number 2, but first in imported, premium rum in Mexico, where they have been for 20+ years now. Global production of 9-liter boxes of rum by this company amounts to 1 million 200 thousand, of which 180 thousand are sold in Mexico.
