Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.- Employment at the State of Chihuahua went up last May thanks to jobs generated in Ciudad Juarez.
According to data from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), from the 6,014 new jobs in May at the State, 4,043 were created in Juarez, i.e. 67%.
IMSS figures show that between May 2011 and last May 31,481 jobs have been recovered from the 119,025 lost to the global crisis.
Since employment hit rock bottom in May 2009, 92,820 jobs have been recovered at the State of Chihuahua, which means that 78% of the jobs taken by the crisis have already been generated. However, Juarez is still far from such rebound.
