Durango, Mexico.- With a US$11 million investment and the generation of around 2,000 jobs, construction of a plant by the transnational auto parts manufacturer Delphi started yesterday, Manuel Diaz, CEO in Mexico informed. “Durango, the time has come to show that things can be made here, and can be made well”, Diaz said. Governor Jorge Herrera Caldera attended the groundbreaking ceremony, pleased to have this first Delphi plant at the State.
Mr. Diaz acknowledged the work done by Francisco Gutierrez, Minister of Economic Development, to promote the installation of this plant.
He announced there are possibilities of having a second Delphi plant at the State of Durango, because the required infrastructure is there; however, it all depends on the success of the first plant.
“We want to respond that things can be made and can be made well, depending on this success we will most surely keep on growing”, he said.
