Mexico City.- Daimler Mexico S. A. de C. V., the company that consolidates Daimler Group’s operations in Mexico, generated operating profit upon closing 2010 for MXP$1.183 billion, therefore posting a 31.8% year-to-year increase.Daimler Mexico’s activities include sales by their Commercial Vehicles Division, with Freightliner trucks and Mercedes-Benz buses; Mercedes-Benz and Smart automobiles and vans, as well as export of commercial vehicles to the United States, Central and South America.
Daimler Mexico’s total income in 2010 reached MXP$17.341 billion, compared to the MXP$13.098 billion in 2009, for a 32.3% growth. These results are mainly due to the good performance last year of trucks exports and cars, trucks and buses sales in the domestic market.
With their two truck-assembly plants located in Saltillo, Coahuila and Santiago Tianguistenco, State of Mexico, Commercial Vehicles Division obtained income for MXP$2.312 billion upon closing 2010. These figures make of Daimler the number come commercial vehicles exporter in Mexico.
Daimler is one of the largest deluxe automobiles producers and the largest commercial vehicles producer in the world. In 2011 Daimler will celebrate 125 years of having invested the automobile.
