Toluca,- Technical stoppages and lower activity in automotive industry established at the State of Mexico has caused the layoff of 2 thousand 300 workers, losses in businesses and even trouble in the State’s public finance.According to the Chamber of Commerce in Toluca, technical stoppages in automotive plants, such as General Motors and Chrysler, have caused economic losses for up to 25% in neighboring businesses.
“If production goes down, so do related services, secondary and tertiary automotive industry; it is a chain where even the last link is affected”, he said.
Information from the State of Mexico’s General Industry Agency confirm the loss of 2 thousand 300 jobs in the last quarter of 2008 at the State.
