Santiago de Chile.- The Chilean State-owned company Corporacion del Cobre (Codelco), the largest copper producer in the world, is interested in performing mining exploration works in Mexico.
Codelco’s Chief Executive Officer, Diego Fernandez, informed this in an interview. “We are interested in going back to Mexico to make exploration works, as we did a few years ago”.
He reminded that Codelco, together with Industrias Peñoles, made explorations between 2004 and 2008 in San Luis Potosi and Sonora through their joint venture Pecobre. “Mexico is an attractive country for mining”, Fernandez pointed-out.
Diego Fernandez held meetings with Mexican representatives in mining industry during Expomin, an international tradeshow held in Santigago de Chile last week.
