Mexico City.- Veracruz Port moved in the first quarter of this year 5 million 37 thousand 558 tons of commercial cargo, 18% over even term last year. The Statistical Summary of Cargo Movement and Productivity from Veracruz Integral Port Administration shows that between January and March 2012 most types of cargo moved through this port terminal posted increases.
According to the report, the cargo segments that grew more were: agriculture bulk 43.3%, vehicles 35.4%, general bulk cargo 26.8%, and last cargo in containers went up 14.1%.
By sector, manufacturing industry posted the largest advance, growing 5.48%, followed by construction with 4.91%.
