Cancun, Quintana Roo,- President Felipe Calderon met last Tuesday with top executives and investors from Masdar, Iberdrola, Rubenius and Grupo Acciona, companies that attended Green Solution Exposition held during COP16.He had private conversations with each of them, first with the Envoy for Energy and Weather Change from the United Arab Emirates and CEO of Masdar, (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), Sultan Al Jaber, who expressed their interest in strengthening bilateral links, mainly on energy related issues.
He later met with top officers from Iberdrola, namely their President Jose Ignacio S. Galan; their CEO in Mexico and Latin America, Gonzalo Perez Fernandez; and Iberdrola Renovables’ member of the board, Xabier Viteri.Ignacio Galan talked about the status of Iberdrola’s operations in Mexico and their expansion projects, among them Bii Nee Stipa Aeolian plant at the State of Oaxaca.
Rubenius’ CEO discussed with President Calderon their project to install in Mexico the largest NaS battery bank in the world, to which purpose a US$4 billion investment has been budgeted for the next seven years.
