Upon closing the first half of 2011, Baja California posted millionaire exports to Japan, mainly sea products and asparagus, due to the effects of the earthquake and latent radioactive contamination.

Jacobo Ackerman Garcia, Representative from the Ministry of the Economy in Baja California, assured that the contingency in Japan, far from affecting products demand, increased it, due to the fear of water contamination. Also, exports are expected to double in the second half of the year.

“With these indicators, Baja California is setting a position through a competitive economic system and great dynamism, which propitiates an excellent environment for new investments”, he said.
