Saltillo, Coahuila.- Growth by automotive sector in Mexico will continue until 2015 and beyond, and even if the strongest growth will take place at El Bajio Zone, the outlook for Coahuila is also an increase in plants capacity; as a matter of fact such expansion has already started and auto parts sector is doubling its production capacity.
Francisco Javier Grijalva Campa, Chairman of Ramos Arizpe Industrialists and Businessmen Association, Asociacion de Industriales y Empresarios de Ramos Arizpe (AIERA), declared that automotive production in Mexico is expected to double by 2015, and even if the strongest growth will take place in El Bajio Zone, where global auto parts manufacturers are arriving, plants here are also expanding their production capacity.
Chrysler, General Motors and Fiat, all have manufacturing complexes in Coahuila, in addition to a strong chain of supply; suppliers here are working hard now, especially if they have contracts with the new assemblers that will be installed in Mexico, which are expected to start operating by 2013 or 2014.
