Torreón, Coahuila.- Companies in the auto parts sector are turning on their engines. After a year as critical as 2009, companies in La Laguna region such as Delphi Torreon, Master Trim Mexico and Liga Mayor have confirmed production levels reactivation of up to 54% and expansions in their labor forces of up to 29%.

A survey shows that In July 2009 Delphi plant n Torreon had a labor force of 340 people, specialized in manufacturing ignition systems and devices for emissions control, mainly for companies such as General Motors, Ford, Hyundai and Harley Davidson, with stable sales, though rather low when compared to pre-crisis figures.

A press release states that in the second half of 2009, with the integration of two new projects, more employees were gradually hired, to end December with a 16.4% increase in their labor force. Master Trim de Mexico specializes in cutting and sewing upholstery for Toyota cars seats, particularly seats for Camry, Avalon and RAV4 models.

According to a press release, the company currently shows an increase in production when compared to 2009.
The company’s production expectations for the rest of the year remain stable, and therefore up to now no expansion in the labor force has been announced.
