Munich, Germany.- Audi, the hi-end cars business unit of the German Volkswagen, will decide late in September or early in October the site where they will install their new assembly plant in Mexico, Axel Strotbek, CFO, said in Munich. Audi is planning to invest in a new plant to assemble SUV’s in Mexico, but they have not disclosed the amount of the investment or the location. The assembler confirmed a few months ago that they would install an assembly plant in Mexico, which will be working by 2016.
“Good infrastructure, cost-competitive structures and free trade agreements played a significant role in choosing Mexico”, Rupert Stadler, CEO, pointed-out then in a press release.
