Puebla, Puebla,- Considering the need to adapt their production volume to the reduced demand registered in international markets, Volkswagen de Mexico and its Union agreed on taking measures and setting conditions that allow preserving jobs for permanent technical personnel, particularly the around 400 workers who ere left with nothing to do when production of Beetle and Jetta was reduced to just one shift.

In addition, additional training will be organized, without reducing remuneration and benefits paid to workers.

Taking into consideration that there might be not enough work for all, a revolving compulsory rest scheme was agreed, which will allow absorbing the personnel surplus in the next few months in a way that is fair to all workers, and therefore every two weeks compulsory rest with 50% of salaries paid will be assigned to a different group of workers.
