  • Maquilador field is not limited to automotive pieces

    Reynosa, Tamaulipas,- For Edmundo Garcia Roman maquilador field is not limited to manufacturing automotive pieces, and he said that manufacturing pieces for the medical and aeronautics industries must be fostered as well.

    Another area that must be promoted, he said, is tourism, especially in the State’s south, specifically in Tampico where natural beauties may be attractive for hundreds of tourists.

    Jobs recovery in maquilador sector, he assured, will be slow but not impossible and therefore jobs for those who have lost their employment or are under a technical stoppage must be generated.

    To this purpose, he said, they have been in close touch with COPARMEX, to look for other investments, preferably in the medical and aeronautics sectors, which could manufacture pieces in this city.
  • Hilti will hire 300 workers

    Matamoros, Mexico,- The German company Hilti, which is currently building an industrial plant here, entered a collective labor agreement with Matamoros Maquiladora and Assembling Plants Workers Union, Sindicato Industrial de Trabajadores en Plantas Maquiladoras y Ensambladoras de Matamoros, to hire 300 workers they will need to start operations next September.

    This was informed by Jesus Mendoza Reyes, the Union’s General Secretary, who further said that the agreement was entered with Hilti executives to provide personnel as soon as operations start.

    Hilti is a world class company that manufactures tools for the mining and construction industries; they are about to finish a 65 thousand square meters (almost 700 thousand square feet) industrial plant, with an investment over US$40 million.
  • Governor attracts more than one thousand direct jobs to Victoria

    Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas,- Tamaulipas reaffirmed its leadership as the second state in Mexico with the best environment for investment, and Governor Eugenio Hernandez Flores set today the cornerstone of the first Springs Window Fashions plant, opening the door to more than one thousand direct jobs to be generated by this Company with an investment close to US$30 million, in association with Vynmsa Industrial Park.

    The project generated immediate employment for more than 500 workers in the construction industry. While when the plant starts operating next October, this world-class manufacturer of home blinds and curtains will hire the above-mentioned 1,000 people labor force.

    “It is clear to us that if we continue investing in infrastructure, if we continue training our people, we will multiply the opening of modern companies”, he pointed-out, positive that to be more competitive it is important to take advantage of the potential offered by the several regions in the State and having a diversified economy.

    This is confirmed by the 764 companies with foreign direct investment established at the State; as well as investment projects Tamaulipas keeps firm with companies from South Korea, Germany and the United States, which all together represent an economic contribution over US$500 million.
