Chihuahua, Mexico.- Zodiac announced they will expand their operations at the State of Chihuahua, specifically in Chihuahua City, where they will generate 1,500 new jobs. The expansion arises from Embraer and Zodiac joint venture to manufacture cockpit interiors for Embraer 170 and 190 regional jets. Production is expected to start in November, so personnel recruitment will start in August. Theirry Fevrier, Industrial Development Director for Zodiac Aerospace, together with Governor Cesar Duarte, announced that the new building would require 8,000 m2 and 500 people labor force within two years.
He also said that in addition to the production arising from the joint-venture, they have two new projects for Chihuahua this year: one of them is engineering and manufacture of covers for First Class and Business Class seats, which will require a 10,000 m2 building and almost 600 people in coming years.
The second project is devoted to the Engineering Department of their Waste, Water and Sanitary Division, based in Los Angeles, California.
They also discussed increasing operations at the state in 2013, which would generate more jobs, to reach 3,000 jobs in Chihuahua.
