Puebla, Puebla.- VW de Mexico reached 9 million vehicles manufactured in Mexico, which they commemorated with the production of a denim blue Beetle, which came out of the line last Tuesday.
The German assembler established in Puebla has reached this figure only 2 years after assembling car number 8 million in May 2010, thanks to the plant’s capacity expansion with Segmento Poniente, which was inaugurated also in 2010 to assemble New Jetta.
VW de Mexico set a new production record upon closing 2011, with 510,000 units. They currently assemble 2,500 units daily, which takes the assembler to the first place in automotive plants ranking in America.
The model with the largest production in Puebla has been Jetta, which in its several versions, sold also as Atlantic, Bora and Classic, have added to 4 million units and remains as the most widely VW sold in Mexico and the United States.
