Mexico,- With an investment over US$1 billion, Ford now has in Mexico a refurbished plant to meet a potential rebound in new cars demand.

It has been two years since the temporary closing of trucks and vans production here was announced. Many people feared they would lose their jobs, and as a matter of fact they did, but there is a breath of fresh air in Ford’s renewed plant, where almost 2 thousand new employees are now getting ready for new Fiesta production kick-off. For the time being everything is rather quiet. At a distance, you may see hundreds of technicians, an average of 24 years old, being trained. There are many details to watch for; new Ford Fiesta will be a car that must meet quality and safety standards in the USA, one of the countries with the stringiest requirements in these areas.
