Mexico City – Mexico could attract investments to increase the manufacturing of gear boxes, shovels and smelting plants for Aeolian industry and be a global supplier, Brian Gaylord, Consultant with MAKE Consulting, assured.
Mexico has opportunities not only for investment in Aeolian projects, which value, only in 2010, was estimated in US$2.320 billion, but also to manufacutre components, Mr. Gaylord said.
There are currently some firms, such as TIPI, Kaydon and Frisa, which manufacture bearing plates and bearing rings, as well as Enertech and Speco, manufacturers of towers, all of them located in the northern border strip (Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas).
In central Mexico there is Potencia Industrial, a company which produces generators for export, which according to data from ProMexico exported US$7.472 billion in 2010, for a 15.5% increase over 2009.
