Mexico City.- With an initial investment of MXP$70 million, Siemens inaugurated a new plant to manufacture industrial controls in Zapopan, Jalisco, which will generate 150 jobs.
These jobs will add to the 1,000 currently generated by Siemens in the area, at their Nema Engines plant in Guadalajara, which required a US$50 million investment.
The plant will manufacture a range of solutions and components for the electric industry, such as starters for electric motors and high quality control components for industrial electric processes, of which 70% will be exported to the United States.
Louise K Goeser, President and CEO for Siemens Mesoamerica, announced that the company will reinforce their expansion at other regions in Mexico with a new Surge Arresters Plant and new corporate offices in Mexico City, soon to be inaugurated and expected to be the greenest building in Mexico.
