Baja California, Mexico.- After the economic crisis in 2008, Japanese manufacturing companies in the electronics field seriously considered other business lines, such as automotive industry.
This was declared in an interview by Takashi Miyazaki, Chairman of the Japanese Maquiladoras Association in Tijuana, and further said that competition with countries such as China and Korea have damaged Japanese companies.
Mr. Miyazaki said that companies that manufacture home appliances are suffering the greatest damage from unfair competition; therefore, many are starting producing auto parts as a way to diversify.
“The electronics and home appliances sectors are subject to a very harsh competition from third countries such as China and Korea and our business is not blooming, we could say it is practically shrinking”, he said.
