Aguascalientes, Mexio.- After Feria de San Marcos ended last Sunday, the Government of Aguascalientes and Nissan Mexicana started the Green Transportation Program, to which purpose the government purchased 50 Leaf units, running on electric power, with an investment amounting to MXP$35 million (around US$2.52 million). In addition, the largest Charge Center in the world was opened after a MXP$1.5 million investment.
From April 20th to May 13th, Leaf Nissan was the official transportation vehicle from Aguascalientes airport to several hotel and tourism destinations, during Feria de San Marcos; 50 cars that, after meeting their purpose in the event, will be used as taxis.
Jorge Vallejo, Head of Government Relations for Nissan Mexicana and Latin America, together with Jorge Duran, Minister of the Environment for Aguascalientes Government, said that the State Administration and Nissan executed last February a Green Transportation Agreement, through which the State purchased 50 Leaf electric cars and the Ministry of the Environment pledged to build a Charge Center for these units.
