Mexico City,- Grupo Modelo will lay off one thousand 200 employees working in their Mexico City Plant due to a drop in sales, both domestic and export.“The Company has been forced to make the hard decision to cut down personnel working for Cerveceria Modelo", informed Jennifer Shelley, Communications Director.
Grupo Modelo has seven plants, located in Mexico City, Oaxaca, Coahuila, Guadalajara, Zacatecas, Sinaloa and Sonora, with a joint installed capacity of 60 million hectoliters of beer per year.
This Mexican Brewery generates around 40 thousand direct jobs in Mexico, according to the Company’s own data.
