Mexico.- The vehicles that stopped going into Argentina for sale due to the unilateral suspension of the Automotive Agreement with Mexico will be sold in Paraguay and Uruguay –members of Mercosur–, as well as in other countries in Central America with a trade agreement. In addition, measures will be implemented so that those cars may be sold in the Mexican market, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Ferrari, informed to the Entrepreneurs Coordinating Council, Consejo Coordinador Empresarial (CCE).Heading a private meeting with members of the 12 private organizations that gather the leading businessmen in Mexico, Minister Ferrari explained that Mexico will file the corresponding demands with the World Trade Organization and the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI); however, if the case is won Argentina would not have resources to pay, due to the crisis they are facing.
Gerardo Gutierrez Candiani, CCE Chairman, asked the domestic market be strengthened with instruments that encourage buying vehicles and absorb most of the units not being sold in Argentina, even if trade with that country is still incipient.
