Mexico City.- “Mexico has a huge potential for the generation of Aeolian power and therefore, with small adjustments to the law, this sector could become one of the ten main investment receivers in Mexico, generating around 45,000 jobs from 2012 to 2020”, Leopoldo Rodriguez, President for the Mexican Aeolian Power Association, said. Mr. Rodriguez further assured that the sector has already invested over US$2 billion in five years, and estimates are that in the next decade the investment will be over US$20 billion.
He further pointed-out that some key stakeholders in Aeolian sector, with industrial parks installed in Mexico, are Acciona, Demex, EDF, FEMSA-Macquarie, Gamesa, Iberdrola and Peñoles. Those parks will be producing 1,053 megawatts by the end of the year.
