Monterrey, Mexico .- Mexican businessmen appetite –specially those from Monterrey– to expand their business or open a new one in the United States has brought a 40% increase in the applications filed at Texas International Business Accelerator (TIBA) from the University of Texas at San Antonio. In the first 6 months of the year, the Accelerator –which offers services such as legal advice, market research and support in filings to obtain an investor visa– has received at least 250 businessmen interested in establishing in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas, according to Jaime Martinez, Senior Consultant, International Business, who further pointed-out that in 2011 only 180 inquiries were made.
TIBA’s purpose is fostering employment and investment at the region, and unlike a private consultants firm it is sponsored by federal and state funds.
