Mexico City.- Thanks to the supply of empty containers to Mabe and their shipment to their distribution center to be transferred to Veracruz Port, Hidalgo Logistics Intermodal Terminal (HLIT) is already handling cargo for 300+ boxes per month and has announced they will soon have new customers. Miguel Angel Yañez, General Manager of the inland terminal, property of Hutchison Port Holdings (HPH), explained to T21 that almost three months after operations started, Mabe —the first big user of the terminal—uses all the logistics services offered by the Terminal, from their distribution center to HLIT and from there to the port. “Therefore, for them, once the cargo reaches HLIT it is as if it already were at Veracruz Port”, he said.
He further informed that they are currently negotiating wit big importers, such as Costco, Home Depot, Sony and Liverpool. “Some customers we will soon have, almost immediately, are this Department Stores chain and other big importers handling cargo at the Terminal”, he said.
